We had the honor of being invited by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Japan, E. Rodney M. Perera, and his wife, Mrs. Perera, to celebrate the 76th anniversary of Sri Lanka’s independence. We feel truly honored by this invitation.
Sri Lanka, gained independence from the United Kingdom on February 4 in 1948, marking this year their 76th anniversary.
The commemorative ceremony commenced with recitations by Buddhist monks from Sri Lanka, followed by speeches from the former Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda and the Japanese Vice Foreign Minister. The event included traditional dances and recognitions for Sri Lankan entrepreneurs, creating a wonderful moment where people from different countries, religions, cultures, businesses, politics, and ages came together celebrating diversity.
